RAW – March, 18, 2019

Monday Night RAW from this point forward will be setting up for WrestleMania. This is what I have learned which now that I have set these expectations it actually helps! Go Me! That means that most matches will either move the story forward and just keep the story in a state of homeostasis which is a very nice thing to know because you might get really annoyed. So let’s get to the big stuff that happened in RAW.

Drew McIntyre totally destroyed both Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose last week so it is only fitting that there is a match set up for him to attack the last member of the Shield. I worry about this match because Seth Rollins is the headline for WrestleMania so you really wouldn’t want him to get hurt. I guess no one else is worried about this so they set up this match anyway. It also just so happens that this is the one week in March that Brock Lesnar has to make his contractual appearance so he was there. You know, don’t want to forget that guy exists and stuff. He just basically stood around making weird dopey faces while his front man screeched into the microphone. I don’t enjoy this person, but maybe he is really nice in real life. Who knows. Anyway, this just sets up for Seth Rollins to have this match with McIntyre (Glasgow guy). The match itself was the main event of RAW but I’m just going to talk about it here. It is a slow time right now (see note above about the point of RAW now) so we know that nothing of importance really happens right now. The match was fine, most of these with this Drew dude are really brutal because I think that is what they are going for, it also was to set up for WrestleMania. Did I say that already? Anyway, Seth got beat up and then this set the stage for Roman Reigns to have a match with Drew for…you guessed it…WrestleMania. Boom. Seth lost because Brock interrupted the match. Not sure why that is allowed but details. I guess this might foreshadow somehow other matches. We will see.

So now that the big event is done we can move on to the more exciting thing – Finn Balor had a tag team match against (less exciting) Bobby Lashley and Lio Rush! Hooray, more Finn! Poor Finn had a very busy week as he was in Abu Dhabi for the Special Olympics and then motored over to New York for the boxing match with another Irish guy. I don’t know how he does it! So he showed up at RAW to have this tag team match that they teased all week who his partner would be. It was very exciting because I was hoping it wasn’t the NXT guys (enough of them already)! So exciting because it was BRAUN STROWMAN! I love this guy because he is just so odd. Like his whole catch phrase about getting these hands. Weirdness. I love it! Braun came out and just destroyed that weird Lio Rush guy which makes him one of my new favorites. Hooray! I believe this is setting up for an exciting WrestleMania match where Finn will take Bobby Lashley’s title hopefully as the Demon. That would make the entire event for me! If that doesn’t happen then I’m not really sure why they are making me watch this same match over and over. I also would like if they made the match where Lio is banned from ringside. That dude needs to go back to the 206 program. I just don’t enjoy him because he has an annoying voice. Also his pants have MOTH on the bottom which I find odd. I think it stands for Man of the Hour but I don’t’ actually know.

The other thing that happened was that Elias announced he will be the headline musical act for WrestleMania. I don’t know what this actually means because he never gets to actually perform. He is fabulous though so I’m glad he gets some air time for WrestleMania.

Other stuff that happened:

Kurt Angle wrestled Chad Gable which just makes me sad for Kurt. Can we stop making him parade around now? Dude is old. Bayle and Sasha Banks had some sort of match with Natalia and another older lady that after looking her up is married to the wrestler Edge. I don’t know that story or why that is happening so fine. There was also a match with Ronda Rousey but it wasn’t important. Her husband did show up though and he is a cutie! Way to go, Ronda! I’m sure more stuff happened but that is all I remember or care about. I feel like we need to start pushing more Finn Balor stuff because we don’t get enough of that man.
