RAW - March 11, 2019
I was looking forward to this Monday Night RAW because Finn
Balor was featured! Hooray! The show started with The Shield and a good bye. I’m
not 100% clear why this is a good bye. I think because Dean Ambrose did not
renew his contract but they aren’t actually saying why. It is just weird. I’m
already over it.
Finn Balor was again going against Bobby Lashey for a title
match. This is why we all came here today. I’m kind of annoyed by the fact that
they can’t just let Finn be like Brock Lesnar and just hold his title forever.
Yep, I went there. They did a whole thing with Seth Rollins and that weird front
man guy for Brock and had some guy come out and fight him. It didn’t make sense
to me and I’m angry that everyone else with a title has to constantly have
matches but he just gets to not even show up. Loser. I seriously hope that
Wrestle Mania actually fixes this totally wrong story and Brock retires. If he
can’t wrestle, he should have to forfeit his title. Seen it before (hello Finn
Balor).
Those NXT guys had another tag team match this time against The
Glorious guys. I don’t actually know their tag team name but they have a
GLORIOUS song and amazing bathrobes. I just love them. They totally go for it
and there is nothing more I ask of my tag teams than being committed to their theme.
Sparkles and bathrobes are my thing! They of course lost because WWE demands
that I pay attention to those NXT people. I’m not even going to say their
names. I’m so over them. Wow I’m over everything this week! Way to get your
audience to become uninterested. So Glorious lost and they didn’t even show me
their awesome entrance. Fail. I will now stop using the NXT people names. WWE
doesn’t control me!
Finn Balor is amazing. The match was already set to fail
because you didn’t see that annoying Lio Rush. I have learned over the past few
months that if a key annoying person is missing that means some monkey business
is happening. It is like when your kids are quiet in the other room. Stuff is
going down. So the match starts with Finn’s amazing entrance music and we are
all stupidly excited to see a good match. That really didn’t happen. Honestly,
Bobby Lashley and Finn Balor are not a good match. Bobby can’t move quickly and
it isn’t very attractive to just watch a big guy throw someone down over and over.
It looks lazy. Take note, Brock. It is boring and lazy and isn’t wrestling.
Okay so anyway, the match is lackluster and then that annoying Lio Rush is in a
hoodie and looks like a child and rings the match bell to distract Finn. It
messes him up (and I’m still not sure how that isn’t DQ worthy) and Finn loses.
Yes people I just said that. Finn lost his adorable little belt thingy. I’m so
annoyed. Why are there no real rules and why do they even allow that Lio guy to
be there? I mean I think they are setting up for Finn to have a WrestleMania
match but I’m less than impressed right now. We have already seen these two
battle several times and it is just not an exciting match to me. I would much
rather see a Finn vs someone else that actually does wrestling moves.
These big
vs little matches are not that cool anymore, especially when the big guys are
only able to throw people around and can’t do any other moves. It just gets
old. It would be cool to see Finn versus more old school style wrestling. I’m
thinking a Andrade, Rey Mysterio, Daniel Bryan, or even Mustafa Ali. Just more
classic and more dynamic moves rather than the big guys that just throw people
around. I know I’m sounding like a brat here, but I think this story is played
out and until they decide to do something about Brock Lesnar the opportunities
for the RAW folks to have more meaningful matches is very limited. I think it
is also true when you think about wrestlers like Elias that plays a pretty
awesome heel but doesn’t seem to have a clear story line to have matches that
are ongoing and different. I mean you can only hit your guitar over people for
so long.
The other amazing match that happened was actually a
surprise for me. Dean Ambrose against Glasgow guy (Drew McIntyre). Dean was avenging
Roman Reigns that got attacked before the match by Glasgow. This was a no DQ
match that had “falls count anywhere” which means you can have a tap out or pin
anywhere in the entire arena (apparently…). The match was brutal and kind of
crazy which I guess fits their characters really well because they are both a
little unhinged. There was a lot of in crowd work which always makes me
nervous. As someone that has taken her children to a match before, I just worry
about people getting hurt or hit. I mean do they prepare you for this? What if you
get their gross sweat on you? What if a fan throws beer on you? There are just
so many variables that I don’t care for in this type of match. It is the mom in
me. I NEED RULES AND EXPECTATIONS PEOPLE. Anyway, it went fine and Dean lost
which I think is just leading up to some sort of Wrestle Mania thing.
Other stuff that happened:
Kurt Angle will have his final match at Wrestle Mania (thank
goodness, man he looks like he can barely move!), There was a women’s match
with two people I don’t know so whatever, then Triple H is going to battle
Batista at Wrestle Mania. I think there must be some sort of background to this
Batista thing but I don’t care enough to look it up.
