RAW - February 11, 2019
I'm still not 100% sure why the Monday night show is called RAW or why they have different people than the Tuesday night show called Smackdown. I'm not sure it matters though because apparently they can cross over between the shows if they are cool enough.
Here is my quick synopsis:
Becky Lynch has to apologize to two annoying people, the women had tag team match where the mean Junior High girls won, I got to see Finn Balor a lot and then the McMahons ruin things again. Done.
Here is the long version for those that need a little more to catch up!
So the start of the show is how both shows have started for the past two weeks - Becky Lynch storms in and then somehow the McMahons (+HHH) decide that she can't be in Wrestlemania even though in any other sporting event that people win a place into you don't get to randomly decide you don't want that person to perform. Also, when the whole crowd is chanting the performers name you probably should just go with it. For some reason the McMahons like to be really awful business people and also kind of weirdly angry at their best wrestlers. It is apparently a theme.
Okay so get past that little bit of "say sorry" and then the Irish lady making a duck face and storming off.
Women's Tag Team
Next was a Women's Tag Team triple match for a spot in what is called the "Elimination Chamber". This fancy chamber apparently locks people in and then the doors randomly open for them to fight. That is coming Sunday so I should know a little more about it but it does sound like a an excuse to use a cage so I'm in! The tag teams in the match Monday included:

Women's Tag Team
Next was a Women's Tag Team triple match for a spot in what is called the "Elimination Chamber". This fancy chamber apparently locks people in and then the doors randomly open for them to fight. That is coming Sunday so I should know a little more about it but it does sound like a an excuse to use a cage so I'm in! The tag teams in the match Monday included:
- Bayley and Sasha Banks, which based on the past couple of weeks I'm just going to make a call that Sasha is actually hurt in real life or super hates Bayley because she doesn't actually fight she just spends a lot of time lying on the ground.
- Some sort of generic wrestlers, one with pink hair and a blue tongue and one with some sort of Braveheart vibe. I never remember their names because it doesn't matter, still doesn't, they are filler people.
- Last of all are Tamina and Nia Jax. This duo gives me flashbacks to Junior High because I'm pretty sure there were these exact girls in my gym class. They were about three feet taller than other girls and that makes them super angry. It might be not finding long enough pants or all that extra hormones coursing through them makes them just really unhappy. They are scary and apparently they only like to wear really dark and harsh makeup. They also wear black all the time so they kind of scare me. Whenever they are in the match I usually see them win. So yeah. End match when they enter. That's all for that. I do have to say they have the best hair out of all the ladies, even pink pigtails has got nothing on them. Wow. Pantene is missing out on these locks.

Walk With Elias
Okay here is the deal with Elias, the man is adorable. He has great hair, nice scarves, and he plays the guitar. All great in my book and he is also a pretty good wrestler and microphone guy so he makes my top five! The whole thing with Elias is that he tries to play music for himself but then get interrupted. Tonight I actually thought there was some sort of broadcast error because he kept getting interrupted with commercials (oh yes, WWE loves commercials) but I guess that was the bit. Then Lucha House Party (do they all live in a house together? is it always a party? I'm still confused here folks) and they interrupt him again. He gets mad, per usual, and then plays a song about how the town they are in sucks (omg I love this part!) and gets booed and then he breaks a guitar out of frustration at Lucha House Party (again...love them but where is this house?). It was great - they should do a whole show on Elias. Man is a genius.
Finn Balor vs Drew MacIntyre
Okay so let's pause for a minute for this amazing match up. Finn Balor is adorable and should be in every single match. Like ever. Dude is cute, engaging, and Irish. His music is great, his lips are weirdly red, and he does a lot of fun flips and kicks which is always my favorite wrestling move (like I know anything about moves but you know he is cute). Putting him up against Drew is kind of mean because that guy is huge. When I first heard of Drew I was picturing more of an Outlander Scot with a kilt and red hair. Instead he is what I like to call Glasgow. He is kind of dark and angry and you don't really know why because hello Scotland is beautiful and the food is really good so why are you so mad all the time? His character wears this long weird coat too. Like you are in little shorty shorts but you think wearing a leather jacket will help? Okay so that was a long way of saying his character was a let down for me. There is a huge hole where a kilt wearing hunk should be. Finn on the other hand fills my Irish need very nicely. He has a good lilt and is I could go on but I'm going to save my love letter of him for a special post!
So this match was fatally flawed from the beginning but of course when it starts and out walks Bobby Lashley and his weird little microphone guy you know it will be disqualified. I don't even know why the refs allow people to be ringside anyway. Like that big guy would keep his hands off of adorable Finn? Right. So basically all heck breaks lose, it becomes a cluster with Kurt Angle (old wrestler guy that people say sucks when he walks out...I don't know guys...) and then this big monster guy Brawn. They all race out and fight and then Corbin comes out (ugh that guy) and we go to commercial. Come back and apparently now it is a tag team match. These always go badly. First off, the refs are kind of oblivious to what is going on. You think if you have six people in a tag team match you would add a ref but no they just keep going and missing things. Also apparently you can run in at anytime and interrupt. Like no rules people! Why are the refs even here? So the ref blows the call (shocker) and then another ref runs in and overturns it. Here is the thing, I've been watching for month and this never happens. Like this is a thing that can happen? Where the heck were these "sideline" refs this past month? So weird. Who cares though, don't you mess with my Finn! So Finn wins and it is great. End match!
Here is a good tushy shot (oh man he is cute):

Nikki Cross & Ruby Riot
I'm not even going to get into this match. Nikki Cross is actually from Glasgow so you know she is a new level of crazy and spends too much time pretending to be full on Glasgow. It is annoying to me so I tune out. I think the red head won this but I don't really care. They are trying to make her seem cool because she is going against Ronda Rousey later and if they don't make her seem cool you will just feel bad for her when Ronda beats her up. Didn't work, sorry.
Seth Rollins
So I'm not sure what the point of this little thing is other than they like to bring out top performers on their off weeks and have them point at the Wrestlemania sign. He talks a lot and then the Brock Lesnar speaker guy comes out (clearly Brock doesn't ever actually show up...that guy bugs me). They talk it is supposed to me all cool but whatever. I like me some Seth Rollins but I'm getting sleepy. Mom has been up too long at this point. Dean Ambrose does come out and say a few nice words or something. Like that guy so it ended well.
EC3 vs Dean Ambrose
I'm not even going to comment on this match. EC3 is annoying and I want him to go away. Dean Ambrose won so all is good in the world, let's just move on.
Men's Tag Team Match
This one was pretty good but honestly both of the tag teams in this are so interchangeable to me. They are just big muscle guys, one in green and one is sparkle. Obviously, I want the one is sparkles to win because they tried harder at their costumes. I like to think they were in the back with a bedazzler. Beauty points count here! Not enough though apparently. Sparkle pants lose and I guess it is a big deal because they lost their weird Roman looking belts. The green shorts guys won and they were like REALLY happy about it. So good job guys! Sparkle pants will just need to add more sparkles and work on those awesome robes. I need one of those. I'd love to walk into the room with one of those on. Wow. My meetings at work would be so much more exciting. Just saying.

Back to Becky Lynch
So they teased the entire show about apologizing which is annoying. She then does, good job I guess. As a mom I want you to own up to mistakes and all that. Then out they wheel (not really but it feels like it) Vince McMahon who is really old and his voice sounds like gravel. He says that Becky is suspended and then Charlotte Flair is going to be in the Wrestlemania match. Now I'm going to be honest here, I don't know her whole "story" other than as my husband says, she is the daughter of some sort of old wrestler guy named Rick. He had cool sparkle outfits too and a neat tag line so he is a winner. His daughter, not so much. She has wear too dark of makeup, someone take away the fake eyelashes before she glues her eyes closed! I also don't enjoy her angry looks. If Nia Jax was the mean girl from Junior High, Charlotte Flair is the mean girl from College. You know that she is probably smart and stuff and in some sort of fancy sorority because she was a legacy, but you still just kind of don't like her. Plus, why would you NOT wear sparkles? If that was like your family thing then go for it!
So I don't by this whole Becky thing, but if it is true I'm out. I worry they are going to make it some sort of three way women's match which is totally unnecessary. Two women that are pretty badass is more than enough. Plus, why are you making Becky into some sort of weird put upon chick. She is a fighter so it just is annoying. I hope she punches the old man at some point so they can wheel him backstage again.
So that's Monday Night RAW. It was an okay night, I got to see a lot of Finn Balor which always makes a nice evening for me.
